Battery Storage
Battery Energy Systems for commercial and industrial sites.
Use stored energy when the grid is expensive, constrained or down. Specified for the switchboard. Delivered as plant, not a kit.
Infrastructure
BESS Solutions
A Battery Energy System sits with the load. You draw from it when tariffs spike, the feeder is tight, or the grid drops. That is the job. Everything else is how we specify it.
What it is
Containerised BESS, and BESS in a plant room, sized to the switchboard and the network connection. Protection, fire, access and controls are designed with the battery, not after it.
Who it is for
Operators who need backup, demand control, or a platform for market services. Sites with Solar PV, and sites without.
How we deliver
Engineering led specification. In house delivery. ISO certified quality systems. OFSC accredited construction. We commission the plant, then monitor it.
FCAS & Arbitrage
FCAS
Frequency Control Ancillary Services help maintain the stability of Australia’s electricity system. A suitable battery may be able to respond quickly when the market requires additional support and receive revenue for providing that service.
Participation depends on the battery, site connection, market registration and operating requirements.
ARBITRAGE
Energy prices change throughout the day. Battery storage can capture lower cost energy and make it available when electricity is more expensive.
The value depends on the site’s energy use, tariff, peak demand, connection, and market conditions. No two sites will produce the same result.
BUILDING THE INVESTMENT CASE
A battery should be supported by a clear understanding of how the site consumes energy and where its strongest opportunities may exist.
EPC Renewables’ experienced engineers develop consumption and peak load management models alongside potential revenue models. This provides a practical basis for assessing the installation, expected benefits and commercial viability.
WHAT THE ASSESSMENT CAN CLARIFY
1. How the site currently uses and purchases electricity.
2. Whether peak demand is contributing to avoidable costs.
3. Where battery storage may improve energy resilience.
4. Whether market participation may provide additional value.
5. What battery capacity may be commercially appropriate.
6. Whether the combined opportunity supports investment.
Every site requires an individual assessment. Speak with an EPC Renewables BESS expert to understand what may be achievable for your facility.
Energy Optimisation
Energy optimisation brings generation, storage and electricity use together across a site, precinct, or portfolio. The opportunity may extend beyond one installation to an embedded energy network or a group of sites operating together as a virtual power plant.
WHAT IT IS
An embedded energy network can coordinate electricity supply and use across multiple buildings, tenants, or facilities.
A virtual power plant connects distributed solar, batteries and controllable loads so they can respond collectively. Aggregation can create greater scale, visibility and flexibility than each site could achieve independently.
WHO IT IS FOR
Property groups, community precincts, industrial facilities and organisations managing multiple sites, particularly where energy costs, resilience and emissions are shared priorities.
The opportunity depends on each site’s consumption, electrical infrastructure, network arrangements and operating requirements.
HOW WE SUPPORT
EPC Renewables’ experienced engineers assess how energy assets could work together across an individual site, embedded network, or wider portfolio.
We develop energy consumption, peak load and potential revenue models to establish whether aggregation or coordinated operation supports a practical investment case.
WHAT THE ASSESSMENT CAN CLARIFY
1. Whether an embedded energy network may suit the site or precinct.
2. How solar, battery storage and site demand could work together.
3. Whether multiple locations could operate as an aggregated portfolio.
4. Where coordinated energy management may reduce peak costs.
5. Whether a virtual power plant could create additional value.
6. What electrical, commercial and regulatory factors require consideration.
Every network and portfolio is different. Speak with an EPC Renewables energy expert to understand what may be possible across your sites.
